Bharat Jodo Yatra:- Political charade or genuine need?

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government has completed eight yearsRahul Gandhi is trying hard to give some life to the dying congress party and somehow he managed to get some attention with his Bharat Jodo Yatra. It will cover a distance of 3,500 kms over the course of about 150 days. But the question is, what is the reason behind this yatra? What are the intentions behind it?

Rahul gandhi In Bharat Jodo Yatra.

"This is a completely political action and the aim is to spread the message across India that the hatred and the violence that the BJP is spreading are weakening the country. Those are anti-national activities and it is not Indian culture. We are trying to counter the BJP’s approach of spreading hatred and fear by showing them an alternative method through this yatra…normally, in a democracy, political parties fight against each other while institutions create fairness. Today, it is no longer such a fight. One should not say this, but the Opposition has no control over the press… the BJP controls the press, they have control over institutional structures, they put pressure on the judiciary, the former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said.

Congress is trying hard and this Yatra could be very crucial for the Congress party to give some life to their dying vote bank as they will connect directly with the people through this. People will understand that there is still an opposition left and they have a option and for healthy democracy we need a strong opposition. Opposition is not there anywhere in the media or the news. Either they don't know what to do or, if they get  any opportunity, they are not utilizing those moments to make a impactful presence.

Today, the Indian media is acting like a puppet of the current government every time you play a news channel. So-called spokespeople from different parties are fighting with each other in the name of debate. This debate is very dangerous and sometimes leads to a controversial incident like a tailor being killed in Udaipur because he supported Nupur Sharma (a BJP spokesperson).

The worst thing is there is no discussion about education, unemployment, inflation or infrastructure development. Political parties divide people in the name of religion. We were never like this before. These days some people are so blind they follow their favorite political party without logic.

Time will tell if this Yatra is going to be fruitful or not for Congress, but definitely it will change the image of Rahul Gandhi.
